Community Service

The school is actively involved in Community Service Prorammes like teaching individuals who had no formal education,visiting places like old-age home,orphanages etc. Organising donation campaigns & other such activities . The objective behind is to sensitise children towards the needs and sufferings of their fellow men and to instill in them strong values which make them better human beings. It also develops in students a senseof responsibility towards society and motivates them to extend their help and support to the needy.

Community Service Programmes: April 2008 onwards

1. Each one teach one project:Started in April 2008 -Students of Std.VII are teaching learners at their homes as part of National Literacy Mission.The project is due to complete on 14 march 2009.
2. Safai Karamchari & Helping Staff are being taught by students daily in zero period.Project started in August 2008.
3. Visit to Bal Sahyog: (a) 24th September 2008-40 students visited Bal Sahyog ,a social welfare organization for children belonging to underprivileged sections of society and presented a culture programme there.Children also took gifts for children of Bal Sahyog and closely interacted with them.
                                      (b) On 7th November 2009 : Living against all Odds

4. Visit to old age Home: (a)Arya Mahila Ashram-Students visited an old age home near Diwali time and took gifts for them. Cultural programme was presented and children spent time with them and interacted with the elderly people .It was an effort to sensitise them towards the crude realities of life make them more loving & caring towards elderly people.
                                           (b)On 21th November 2009 :A heart warming experience

5. Donation Campaign: Children participated in the donation campaign and contributed clothes, books,toys ,eatables and other utility items to help people who are victims of nature disasters and calamities.

6.Save Club: Students of save club of BBPS, Rohini, made and distributed paper bags at DC Chowk, Rohini in an attempt to spread awareness in people towards saving environment. More >>

7.National Literacy Mission : In 2010 our school made 184 learners literate.

8. Visit to old age Home: Students of Std IX visited Arya Mahila Ashram(Old age home) on 7 Aug 2010 as part of the Community Service and Interaction programme. Every year such visits are organised for different classes to sensitise students towards the needs of their fellow men who are less privileged and who are leading very painful & tough lives. Students are encouraged to put in their sincere efforts to alleviate their sufferings in whatever way they can. Children also presented a beautiful cultural programme which was appreciated by all. Our School Principal Ms. Rekha Sharma who takes keen interest in the community service programs and motivates & encourage the students also for such programs also visited the old age home along with the students. Principal, students and staff members distributed small gifts as tokens of love and respect.

8. Project Ehsaas: The school has started Project 'Ehsaas' under which students of YUVA Club would be working with special children( Hearing Impaired & Mental Retardation ) in ASTHAVAKRA SCHOOL.It is going to be a great learning experience for our students. Students of YUVA club spent some beautiful moments with special children in ASTHAVAKRA SCHOOL on their first visit on 14-10-11. The day saw some amazingly beautiful performances by those children who taught us to love, respect & value every little thing we have been blessed with in life. The welcome by them was equally heart warming.
