
Bal Bharati Public School, Rohini under the aegis of National Progressive Schools Conference (NPSC) organized ‘A workshop for English Teachers of classes I to V’ on 8th September 2010. The workshop was inaugurated by the school Principal, Ms. Rekha Sharma and saw the participation of 47 teachers from 27 prestigious schools which are the members of N.P.S.C.
Session I, ‘Feel Free to use Arts’ was conducted by Resource Person Dr. Ashish Ghosh, a Professor of political science at Delhi University and the Director of Anant Theatre. He introduced the teachers to a plethora of games and activities to inject fun into classrooms.
Mrs. Renuka Chabbra, Senior Education Officer with Synergy School Systems, conducted the second session on ‘Effective Pedagogy at Primary Level’. The session focussed on key areas like new approach in pedagogy, diversity and dimensions of learning and challenges for L2 learners.
The workshop was an eye opener which enlightened the teachers and induced progressive outlook amongst them.
Although 80 schools were invited for the workshop, the response from most of the schools was not appreciable and supportive. A lot of effort and money was involved in arranging the resource persons and other facilities which was not utilized to the fullest. |
