WORLD AIDS DAY – RED RIBBON MARCH

Bal Bharati Public School, Rohini observed WORLD AIDS DAY on 1st December 2009 as part of the International School Award initiative. The day started with the students and staff members wearing the red ribbon badge to mark their solidarity with the cause. A special assembly was organised in the morning in which small presentation was given to the students to increase their awareness about the lethal disease. The senior students also presented a street play on the theme to make the students aware about the causes and symptoms of the disease and how social acceptance is the key to integrate the people suffering from it. The highlight of the day was the Red Ribbon March organised by the school in which other schools from the neighborhood were invited to participate. Over 200 students from classes VII and VIII and 4 visiting schools took out a march from the school to Swarn Jayanti Park, Sector 10, Rohini with placards and slogans to create awareness in the neighborhood. The rally culminated with the students presenting the street play for the public.
