Workshops & Seminars 2011
Various workshops & seminars are organized
for students,parentsand teachers throughout the year.The workshops
are conducted by eminent professionals from various fields .This
year we had workshops on Effective Carrer
Choices,Personality Development,Self management,Effective teaching
Methodologies,Sterss management etc.
Multiple career councelling sessions are held for students & parents.Open House
sessions are conducted for parents which is an open platform
for interaction between parents and teachers.
1.A workshop on “Management of Academic, Behavioral and emotional problem at Primary Level” was conducted by School Councilor Ms. Sangeeta Chopra, on 02/07/11 for teachers of class I to V in the school. Different issues were discussed and solutions shared by the participants.
2. An Orientation Programme was organized in School on 30th July 11 for parents of std. VI,VII,VIII to apprise them of the CCE pattern of evaluation, Vice principal Ms. Bandana Sharma addressed the parents on the importance of the new pattern and the session was followed by a parenting session for parents by School councilor Ms Sangeeta Chopra.A new project ‘ Nanha Prayas’ was initiated in the month of July wherein selected students of std IX & X spend the zero period daily in class I & II assisting class teachers in looking after students who need individual attention in specific area of learning.
3. An orientation Programme on ‘Good touch Bad Touch’ was conducted for selected students of Std III,IV, V by School Councilor Ms Sangeeta Chopra on 22/7/11to make them aware and train them as a core team for future workshops with children.
4. Students participated in “Campaign against smoking” workshop on 1/8/11 organized by G.D Salwan School in collaboration with Delhi Health department. The workshop aimed at sensitizing students towards the environmental hazards of smoking.
5. A workshop on effective study strategies was conducted by School Councilor, Ms Sangeeta Chopra for students of Std. IX in School on 05/08/11 to help them learn the strategies for improving their academic performance and to study with more confidence and better understanding.
6. A series of workshops on ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch’ were organized for Boys and Girls separately (Class III to V) from 8th Aug to 23rd Aug by School Councilor Ms. Sangeeta Chopra to make them aware of the differences between a good and bad touch so that they can protect themselves from abuse to some extent.
7.Students participated in different competitions held during the literacy week (from 07/09/11 to 13/09/11 which were organized by the Delhi Schools Literacy Project in various Schools of Delhi.
8. A workshop on ‘Good touch and Bad Touch’ was conducted for mothers of Std I an II on 24th & 25th August respectively in the school by the School councilor Ms. Sangeeta Chopra with the objectives that the mother’s could educate their children regarding the same thereby ensuring their safety and well being.
9. A shramdan activity was organized for class IX on 08/09/11 wherein the students made paper bags, cloth bags, decorated old diyas & candles painted old but wearable T-shirts, Clothes, bed sheets etc. and made posters and pamphlets to create awareness among people towards saving their environment. The material prepared by the students would be distributed in slums and orphanages.
 
10. A Workshop on Learning Disability at Indian Islamic Centre was attended by School Counsellor Ms. Sangeeta Chopra and Special Educator Mr Sunil on 7/10/11 .
11. Eco awareness workshop was conducted by Panasonic India on 10/10/11 in School for Students of VII,VIII & IX.
12.Visit to Special School Asthavakra on 14/10/11 by students of YUVA Club for project Ehsaas.
13. Anti cracker campaign by YUVA Club in School.
14. Workshop : Career Counselling & Motivation by Mr. Satnam Singh for students of Std. X on 21/10/11.
15.Christmas Donation campaign in School on 1/11/11.
16.Children’s day celebrations at Asthavakra special school by Yuva Club on 14/11/11.
17. Career Counselling session for class X students by Aakash Institute on 14/11/11.
18.Career counseling & Time Management session for Commerce students class XII on 15/11/11 by Mr Satnam Singh.
19.Students of Std.XII Participated in Career Fair at DPS Gurgaon on 18/11/11.
20.Workshop on “Aggression & Bullying" at DPS Rohini on 19/11/11 attended by School Counsellor, Ms. Sangeeta Chopra.
